I've had a very big problem for a while now, I think that nobody can help me because I did not find anything on the internet, but it's worth a try.
And although my fortnite gaming sound has been quiet for a couple of weeks even though I have it at 1.00 (the highest), when I'm in a party with colleagues I do not hear any steps from the game so I'm looking for a solution somehow quieter the party chat without changing the game sound so I can set the game sound above the normal slider higher because it is already at maximum in the game, but it does not seem to be something like this at Ps4. I have the party mix at party settings on the very left so the game sound should actually be louder. I really do not know why it was a few weeks ago, I've always played with gamesound 0.12 or so and there it was very good after the update, it has simply reset to 1.00 and you hardly hear anything. I do not understand why you can't just make the party chat itself or why Epic Games has ever done so that it was reset but well…
Mhh, that's not so easy to answer. I'm assuming that it's normal for all the rest, right?
Do you have one of the higher quality headsets? These often have a sound processor and probably could be the cause of the problem.
I use simple Samsung S7 headphone😅 I mean the confused thing is that it was even times and even with 0.12 and every other game I have to make quiet about the game setting only Fortnite is too quiet I forgot to mention 😅
Do you have the possibility to use another headset? Because I would try that first.
I can try it but do not think that it does what it does not make the game sound louder and if only the party with it and I would be back to the same result

After all, we now know that it is not a headset problem. But again asked differently, but you also hear the sound of the game over the headset or? Because what we want to avoid here is a separation of game sound and voice chat. Everything has to go through the headset.
So as you describe it all here is your fortnite probably verbuggt and it sounds like the update resettles your settings where the volume in itself, has not really changed. I also had a bug I think nobody else had. Had until about 2 weeks, since 4 seasons ragnarock under my hero orders xD although I already had him in season 5 already finished. You will probably have no choice but to report the problem at fortnite… Or you could still try to reinstall the game maybe it is then back to normal.
