What is the exact meaning?

I noticed what actually brings social media like instagram youtube and twitch clearly makes it fun to watch etc. But what brings someone 10k followers on instagram it's basically just a number on an app and if the app no longer exists zbs instagram the effort was not worth it.

Probably mainly "self confirmation".
Otherwise it's not really "social", I think every real meeting in a pub or club is more social.
