I just wanted to download eclipse to start programming with Java. Now when I started eclipse I got the error message: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Then I tried to reinstall Java, but the same error message came up:
A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
I already had the problem some time ago when I wanted to play Minecraft via the Twitch launcher, or, since then, this error has been there, I uninstalled twitch and tried everything again, the error remains.
Modern Eclipse versions need at least Java 11. However, this is automatically included when you use the installer: https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/
If you also need a separate Java installation, the best thing to do is to get it from https://adoptopenjdk.net/ or https://aws.amazon.com/de/corretto/.
