What is the difference between a host and a raid on Twitch?

In a raid, the viewers are sent directly by the streamer who has just ended to whom they are being raided. The viewers can then write directly to the person in the chat. In contrast, the viewers stay with the host with the streamer in the chat that ended, but they see the streamer that was hosted.
