I have known a boy who is 13 years old for 3 months and who often streams live on Twitch. I knocked him out a total of 10 euro today and his response was really grateful.
I want to give this boy a really beautiful big heart and donate 100 euro to him. I'm really not kidding and that's why I want to know your opinion on how to get the money out of it so that his reaction is entertaining.
I thought of 4 options:
1) I knock out 100 euro with 1 donation.
2) I get out 2x 50 euro with 2 donations.
3) I get 5x 20 euro with 5 donations.
4) I get out 10x 10 euro with 10 donations.
How would you do it?
It is best not to donate via Twitch at all, but to friends and family via PayPal - then he gets everything and Twitch does not collect money.
1 donation with a maximum of 5 EUR.
Or why do you have so much money left that you have to give it away to strangers?
The donation should be visible in the stream only that you know
Does he just have less of it.
Actually I would donate 10, 15, 25, 50
Who says what of must? Anyone who knows Twitch knows that this can be really fun. In any case, I think it's better than spending 100 euro on alcohol in discos on the weekend, e.g.
Whereby increases like this would certainly be cool…
E.g. First 5 euro then 10 euro then 25 euro? And then 60 euro or so… ^^
I think that will create the biggest wow. I think it's cool that you're doing that, even if I personally can't understand the donation. But after all, it's your money, and making someone happy is certainly morally better than investing it in brand name clothing or fast food.
You underestimate the entertainment value and impact on the community. That can be worth the loss of money.
"Stranger" is the wrong name here! I know the boy a little, I know what his name is and I also find him likeable. He goes to great lengths to make his streams good.
Put yourself in the shoes of a 13 year old boy who is still going to school would you refuse 100 euro?
Nonsense, there are enough plugins such as Stream Elements that can also be used to display donations via PayPal.
Well, "must" in the sense of "I don't know what else I can do sensibly with the money"…
Yeah, maybe 100 euro on top, that's a whole different world
How about just will?
Why do you have to be told that people sometimes like to do different things than you do?
But that doesn't mean that he knows and has set it up.
Would be a good way to increase the entertainment value and influence of the community - something is often underestimated.
The questioner is not the streamer but a viewer. This is about using the means that are required to make a joy.
It's interesting that you assume that a) everyone knows this kind of donation and b) they didn't make it.
p.s. You can't make € donations through Twitch.
Sure - for 100 euro you get bits worth around 82 euro - so around 18 euro go to Twitch, or the noble donor has to spend more than 100 euro to be able to donate bits worth 100 euro. There would be the question - what is more important to you? Donate the full amount and make the streamer happy with it (you can say that in the chat and the streamer could display his PayPal balance), or profile yourself and feed Twitch with it. The question is - do you do it for yourself or for the streamer?
Would you refuse 100 euro?
No of course not. But that's not the crux of the matter here in my opinion. I would also be happy about 5 euro. The crux of the matter is appropriateness. You are not his godfather who wants to finance his first moped.
Or the other way around: if the 13-year-old has to have 100 euro, why doesn't he get it from his parents? Or how would the parents see it if strangers gave their child substantial monetary gifts? (With this I'm not even aiming at potential misunderstandings that they could accuse you of having dishonest intentions. Just related to the money supply)
I see it more often that when people talk about € donations, that for example Streamlabs donation links are meant, the taxes are very fair (I mean 2.5% of the amount of money and then another 35 cents, i.e. At 100 euro that would be 97 , 15 euro that arrive.
I know what you mean, but a) it's only fair that you want to make yourself happy with it and b) the entertainment for the other viewers is something the streamer likes to do and a donation link that is used works like that rather than "just take a look at your Paypal transfers.
Apart from that, it is not about how the donation should go, but in what amounts. Who says a PayPal address is even known?
Call me old-fashioned, but I think it is important to be careful with money. That has absolutely nothing to do with "like to do".
And with e.g. 100 EUR I see the danger that neither the FS nor the 13-year-old goal of this donation have this in mind.
He doesn't have to have the 100 euro, that's right, but I want to do him a favor. But with 100 euro I will certainly not finance him with a moped or whatever you said there.
He just wants to get a rank for a Minecraft server and a few cases to do a case opening. So I thought that I would donate 100 euro to him.
I've already donated him a 10 and his parents say they think that's good. So why shouldn't you give your child a 100 euro donation? I know that the boy is, of course, a bit of a stranger to me.
But I know him by name, and I think he is likeable too, so I think I can do that one day. It's not like I'll do it again afterwards.
And let me put it this way - if the mother or father refuse to make this donation to their son, they can transfer the money back to me, they may have to bear the chargeback fees, which should be incurred.
The recipient can also have the money posted back to the account of the sender of the money. I mean he is only 13 years old, still goes to school there you have no great opportunities to get money except to deliver the newspaper but you earn what I donate to him with a donation in one day in a month.
So from there! Besides, what do you think that what bad intentions should you accuse me of?
