Whenever I connect the headset, I have a noise in the microphone
No matter whether I connect it with a sound card (Soundblaster! Play) or whether I connect it to normal sound
I have no idea what it is
I don't have the problem on the playstation
and not on the xbox either
If you don't have the problem on other devices, can it not be a defect in the microphone? Then the problem must be with the PC.
Then it will be a setting of a software or a program.
Or vice versa, the game consoles may have a gate or automatic noise reduction.
If you have a jack plug, try the following:
Right click on the white speaker icon in the system tray> Sounds> Recording> Double click on the microphone> Improvements> Activate noise cancellation> OK.
Under "Level" the "microphone gain" should not be set above 10 dB. Otherwise, there may be unpleasant sound distortion.
Unfortunately, noise reduction is the last, not particularly good, means. It is better to clear up weak points beforehand or not to let them arise in the first place.
Suggestion?
Not a specific one. You have to use a high quality microphone, possibly a Steinberg interface, no cheap cables, pay attention to plug quality - there's often a 20ct difference between NoName and Neutrik, …
I understand the hype about so-called large-diaphragm "studio microphones", some of which then cost less than € 20, while those large diaphragms that also see studios from the inside cost at least ten times as much.
Unfortunately, it is the case that people buy off-roaders, although they avoid every puddle and buy so-called studio equipment for the children's room. Have you seen a Smart as a garbage truck or instead of a tractor in the field?
This is of course helpful for showing the way how you can possibly still save a remnant of quality.
