I would like to buy an Xbox one, do the old discs work on the One? Ie the older call of duty? Or you have to buy the "old games" new in the Xbox store, thanks for the answers
As far as I know, most CoDs are backwards compatible. However, Modern Warfare 3 does not appear in the official list. The store is available again on Xbox One.
If so, all you have to do is insert the old CD. The game is then downloaded digitally.
If not, what you notice then because the console can't read the CD, you must probably buy it online again.
But if I may give you a hint. On a new console you do not need to play the old parts. The current CoDs are now cheap and the first Modern Warfare title even exists as a remaster.
Or even better, wait a bit. On October 25th, Modern Warfare releases a reboot of the series, including a decent graphics engine.
