No sound on Xbox One, what can you do?

I haven't had a sound on my Xbox since I bought it, but now I want to do something about it. So my question would be how you can get sound on the Xbox one.

What should the sound output be done via the TV or do you have a system connected via a Toslink cable?

In the console settings you can set how the sound should be output in the Video and Sound submenu. Either via the optical cable or HDMI.
