As soon as you turn off the console, the fan also turns off. At least only if you have deactivated fast startup. Then the console and the fan are still running. The fan, however, turns much more slowly than it does now, for example in games.
It is very unlikely that something will break on the console. Because the Xbox brand also stands for durability and good support.
