Playing Minecraft PE with friends on Xbox account?

Hi, me and a friend of mine both have an Android device, Minecraft Pocket Edition, and have added each other with an Xbox account in Minecraft via Gamingtag.

When I open a world in single player mode and have the necessary settings active, I want to invite my friend into the game, which can be done via the menu. But where does he see this invitation? We'll both show up as online and playing Minecraft on the Xbox website. When one of us enters a world, the "Friends" category still says "Your friends are not currently playing Minecraft".

Shouldn't it be possible to play Minecraft with one another outside of the same LAN connection via the Xbox account?

If you click on play there should also be a rider friends there you can then choose the world of your friend
