Now that I have an Xbox, I wonder if I can play with my family, so with two consoles. Is that possible? If yes how? Do you need Xbox live gold? Could you recommend some games to me?
1. You only need controllers, no other consoles. 2. I would recommend Monopoly, Just dance, and recommending worms can be quite fun
Yes you only need enough controllers, gold you need to be able to play online, with 2 consoles it is of course chillier because you do not have to share your screen.
Ghost Recon is cool because you can play the campaign together well
GTA 5
Assassins Creed - Syndicate
Red dead redemption bucked but I don't know what it looks like with the multiplayer
There are 3 methods for multiplayer on Xbox One, one is split screen, LAN and online multiplayer.
Before we go through all of this: you need an Xbox Live Account * per person, for yourself you need an Xbox Live Gold membership if you want to play online.
Splitscreen allows up to 4 players on one console, provided that the game also allows 4 players on the split screen. You also have to consider how many players a certain game mode allows a game of players on one screen. Example: Halo 3 MCC allows up to 4 players in multiplayer PVP on the split screen, but the campaign only allows 2 players on one screen.
The LAN Multiplayer, on the other hand, allows up to 8 Xbox One consoles in a local network, for which no Internet is required.
The prerequisite for everything to work for LAN multiplayer is:
- One Xbox One per person, no matter which variant
- Pro Xbox One, one monitor or TV
- Pro Xbox One One game, whether on disk or digital
- The game must be up to date everywhere
- One LAN cable for two Xbox One consoles
A LAN switch or LAN hub (with more than 2 Xbox One consoles, but you also need a LAN cable for each Xbox One console - maximum 16 consoles possible)
- Multiple power strips
- A cheap electricity provider
With 2 Xbox One consoles you only need one landable, with which you can connect both consoles directly. Add the right game and you're ready to go.
With more than 2 consoles you need a LAN switch or a LAN hub. One LAN cable per console, connected between the console and the switch / hub.
Alternatively, a WLAN network can also be used, for example a Wi-Fi router or smartphone. But consider how many devices they can accommodate. It is also possible to connect 2 or more Xbox consoles once with a LAN cable between the console and the Wi-Fi router, and to connect the other console to the router using Wi-Fi. A kind of hybrid LAN / Wi-Fi function. In addition, with some games it is also allowed to play split screens. So it is possible to play with 2 consoles up to 8 players.
For LAN you can also use OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games, it is also possible to play your Xbox One with the original Xbox, or Xbox 360 together in the LAN network. For example, the old Star Wars Battlefront II from 2005, you can play together in a network on all 3 consoles.
(* for LAN multiplayer between Xbox One and 360 you do not need an Xbox Live account on the 360, a locally created Xbox 360 account is also sufficient for the LAN multiplayer)
LAN-enabled Xbox One titles are rare. 2 well-known is the Halo Master Chief Collection, where all Halo parts are LAN-compatible, as well as Gears of War 4. Minecraft Bedrock Edition is also there, there's even the greatest advantage: Minecraft Bedrock allows cross-familiarity via local Network via LAN cable or Wi-Fi network, between Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, smartphone (Android, IOS, Amazon), Windows 10, and Playstation 4.
You can gamble online either privately or publicly with users from all over the world. The requirement for this is an Xbox Live Gold membership. Since the maximum number of players varies, some players currently allow a maximum of 32 players, here and there also 64 players, and in games, especially in Battle Royale Games, there are over 100 players.
Thank you very much.
