World war z crossplay xbox one pc?

Hello me and my buddy want to play world war z together He on pc I on xbox one s (he on epic launhcer) we have been searching the internet for an hour as we can play with each other but nothing except that they say crossplay is available.

At Crossplay Games you are usually linked to a manufacturer account again.

So I saw that it's free on Epic.

can there be any life function like Fortnite that you have to add via Epic

or your colleague on Xbox has to connect to epic.

I recently had the problem on COD.
