Play Minecraft on a self-made server with Windows Xbox 1. How?

Quick question in advance: do you mean server a realm, simply a new Minecraft world or an external hosted server?

If it is a realm, you can invite your friends using the invite function on the server.

If there's a server via e.g. Nitrado, then you would have to see whether an Xbox invitation to the game would help or if there was an invitation function on the server, similar to the realms (see link above). Normally it should be there.
