Hi, I've been running an Xbox for a long time, and I've got Minecraft on it, so I have a laptop and connected it to my Microsoft account. Now I've downloaded myself on my laptop Minecraft over Microsoft and play now on my laptop Minecraft is this now another version because the menu looks a bit different it looks exactly like on my console so that is like the original Minecraft version or is that something else? Because I've also created a skin on a page on the Internet and was able to upload and equip it quite normally on this other Minecraft and play now
Yes, on the consoles runs a sort of stripped down version. The Java version is running on the PC. The real Minecraft, so to speak.
If you have downloaded Minecraft through Microsoft it will be the "same" version, unless you can also buy the Java version from Microsoft but I doubt it because both the "Windows 10 version" and the "X-Box One version" belong to the Bedrock Edition, which by the way is the official Minecraft, and the editions which belong there always receive the same updates, or if it comes in one version to errors, this version receives another which the others of my knowledge not receive. The updates are usually also available at the same time.
Almost no correct information…
The versions belonging to the Bedrock Edition are the official versions, as well as the Java version, as also confirmed by Helen Zbihlyj, respectively Helen Angel (her Twitter Nickname under which she is sometimes called). The Bedrock Edition is also, to my knowledge, now on the same level as the Java version or even further because items often only published in the first Bedrock Edition, which, incidentally, highlights the priority of Bedrock Edition for Mojang / Microsoft. What is correct to say is that the Java version is the original, but the right Minecraft is with the Bedrock Edition, since June 2017.
I have to say I have not played Minecraft for 6 years. That was the case then. Good that there are people who can improve one. Now I have learned something again.
So if I play the Bedrock version is it like the normal Java version?
On the whole already. Both versions are roughly kept at the same level, but there may be deviations
