New xbox controller on the one?

I think so, because the controllers have stayed the same from generation to generation.

It's a shame that you can't connect a PS5 / Dualsense controller to a PS4 oof

Qlso I had a Ps4 and now the PS5 and I don't think that's so bad:-)
