Will Fifa19 start all over again on the new xbox?

This is more for people who are familiar with the xbox games, unfortunately have little idea. The following situation:

I played fifa on the one s with DVD. The new series s has no drive. Can't seem to play the game even though I was able to download it using the xbox app. So I have to buy the game again in digital. I'm logged into the new xbox with my old Microsoft account. Will my game progress be carried over to the DVD game? The progress is saved online. The new digital game would be a "different game" so I'll start over, right?

Your game data will be adopted
