Can I connect a lan cable to my xbox one?

Since I'm currently not playing without a lan cable on my xbox one and now want to play with a lan cable, I asked myself how or if that works because I can see on the xbox where I can plug in a lan cable but have not found anything in the network settings

If you don't find anything in the settings, you probably have to reset the console to factory settings.

Put it on and you're done.
