Xbox One X 4K not working on 4K TV?

I have a problem. A buddy owns a 4K TV (should be one) called Samsung UE55RU7179U. However, my One X can't switch to 4K, I have set my console in "Video quality & overscan" to auto-detection when displaying, it can then set to HDR but not to 4K. There it is:

That upsets me abnormally. Does the TV have 4K or not?! On the TV itself I don't find anything that can be set with 4K. Can anyone help me?

The best thing to do is google it for the TV or look in the manual to see if the TV has 4K, which would have it theoretically without having to change anything on the TV!

I googled for almost an hour, but nothing, NOTHING. Found…

Then the TV probably doesn't have 4K

No

Maybe these tips will help you:

Since I have already looked, unfortunately there was nothing to find.

according to WP one can call it 4K… The number of 4K pixels is between 4.7 megapixels and 12.6 megapixels…

what does the One X mean with 4K? LOL

No

XBox via HDMI cable connected? If so, does the TV have many HDMI connections?

Ab

Yes with HDMI, all 3 existing connections tested…

The TV is not 2 years old, so yes, it can 4K. Probably only something is wrong. The Xbox will think that no 4K TV is connected because the connection test did not allow 18Gbit, i.e. 4k60p.

Have a look if the setting "Extended input signal" under "General → External device management" brings an improvement.

Oh, we already have it here: "The native resolutions are 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz (UHD models) and… If the extended input signal is activated (On). The native resolution is 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz. If the extended input signal is activated (Is over."

The Xbox probably doesn't like it if it's only allowed 30Hz.

Po

Some TVs can't work with 4k and HDR on all HDMI ports. Already tried to use another socket?

Ab

Yes, we then tested HDMI 2 and 3, unfortunately it didn't work.

So the console is set to 60 Hz by default, at 50 Hz it is still possible, but at 24 Hz it flips around. 120 jjt only with HDMI, but not when auto detection of the One X is active. I just don't get it. I have the right console, the right HDMI cable, and the TV should also display the correct 4K. We did not find anything in "External device management". I'm in a dead end. It seems to me rather that the TV has no 4K at all, and is just a kind of marketing strategy from Samsung, so it's a straight lie. If I want to allow my One 4K, but is that the TV does not support it, and I can't set anything on the TV, then there's something lazy!

No FullHd TVs have been produced for some time, so the panel has 100% 3840 * 2160px and HDMI 2.0 inputs that support it. As I said, the "extended input signal" setting will solve the problem. Why the point is not there as it is in the instructions is of course a different question.
