I bought it to play Trials Fusion, that's about 1 year ago.
I've never used it often, it was mostly in my table drawer and came only to use when a friend was there, for example, you can play COOP games on the PC.
Now I plug him in and there's no reaction.
Not from the PC, the controller does not light, nothing happens…
Have tested the USB, this "plug" where you plugged in the controller so he goes to USB and the end cable IN the controller.
The cable has strangely deformed there. I suspect a cable break.
Can I still do something about this? Is there hope?
[I own this version]
Swap it. You still have warranty.
When I bought it last year at Media Markt I thought eig that things like Nokia are, I have never experienced that an XBox controller by NOT physical impact breaks. Therefore, the bill is no longer found.
Although I had already thought of that, but as I said, receipt is missing unfortunately.
Did you pay the possibly with map? You do not need the receipt if you can prove otherwise that you bought it there. Otherwise, I would try anyway. Mostly they are very accommodating at MediaMarkt.
I have the same model.
First, you can try to change the controller without the bill.
Questions cost at least nothing. And maybe those responsible have a good day and do it over "goodwill".
If all else fails, screw the controller apart and look at the solder joints of the USB cable. Maybe only one contact is loose here, or bent.
That could be done mechanically and re-soldered.
Or you shorten the cable a bit, insulate all wires clean and soldered completely new. Before you should make yourself from the cable assignment still a meaningful photo. This helps with the new soldering.
And with a little hot glue can then be brought a little more stability into it.
If you do not trust yourself, ask around you if someone could help you. However, without warranty of functionality.
And of course, the remaining guarantee will be forfeited completely.
But if the cable should be broken somewhere else, then you could cut another USB cable and this "tinkering".
Before I had to dispose of my controller, I would try it that way. However, I have (from earlier) still the appropriate tool and a 15W fine soldering iron lying around here.
And I even remember at which end the soldering iron gets "warm".
