No more Xbox sound?

I recently dropped my Xbox Controller while my headset was plugged in. After that, I had no sound and that headset is not recognized. With another controller I have the party sound but no gaming sound. The headset is still working. Do I have to get a new controller?

If your headset has its own cable (detachable cable between headset and controller). Check if it's in the right place.
