Rocket League private game not possible?

I have a problem and I want to play Rocket League with a friend on Xbox. But as soon as we start a private game, the non-host always ends up in an online lobby. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

What are you playing on on pc because I already had the problem

Xbox One. Did you fix the problem?

Was able to fix it by closing the game once and re-forming the group, then simply creating a private game and joining as a non-host with the respective button
