For example, I want to connect a switch to LAN port 1 and operate it in power mode in order to network my PC, PS4 and Xbox one x with 1 Gbit.
At LAN port 2 I would set the green mode to operate the TV with fast internet.
What about my network? Does the network on LAN Port 1 remain unaffected by Green Mode or does everything automatically switch back to 100 Mbit?
Yes, can be set separately for all 4 ports.
I know that you can set the power mode on all 4 ports.
But what if I run Power Mode and Green Mode at the same time, does the speed drop to 100Mbit if a device can only send and receive a maximum of 100Mbit?
Your television, I assume it has a 100 Mbit / s interface, to operate in green mode on the Fritz box would be like a car that drives a maximum of 100 on a street that is allowed up to 100. Say it would make no sense to turn on the power mode for this interface, because the television can no longer anyway.
On the port for which you activate green mode, you only have 100Mbit, on the rest you still have 1000Mbit.
If your device has a network card with 100Mbit, this will also be max. Work with 100 Mbit. The 1000Mbit is only what the FritzBox gives out. But you actually only need it if you transfer a lot of data internally in the network.
@KukuBa - should actually be a comment.
You take the word out of my mouth. Perfectly explained.
Thanks for the answer.
So can I operate my TV at LAN Port 2 with the Green Mode and at LAN Port 1 with the Power Mode operate the switch with 1 Gigabit without the network being slowed down to 100 Mbit?
Richgtig!
