2 Xbox in the same network without Xbox live / gold?

Hey wanted to ask if it's possible to play the same network with 2 consoles and 2 same games together. Do not have Xbox live / gold, does this have to be present despite the same network?

No, that is not possible.

Unless there's the possibility to play a game over Lan. But I would not know that.

The gold membership is not only the common playing but the necessary functions that make this possible. Access to the respective game server including the account management to secure your progress, as well as party psychics, friends list and invite them, all under the supervision of Microsoft.

And that costs money.
