Which is the latest nintendo DS currently?
Nintendo Switch is the latest.
The New Nintendo 2DS XL is the latest, but a slightly worse version of the New Nintendo 3DS XL. This is because the 3D mode is missing.
And the latest pokemon game?
And the latest pokemon game?
If you only take the DS: The Nintendo DSi XL
New 3Ds XL
But no more games will appear, the DS series has been replaced by the Switch.
That's wrong, the Nintendo Switch is not part of the Nintendo DS family…
Pokemon sword and shield for the Nintendo Switch. But for the 3DS family, it's Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
The newest Pokémon game for the DS family is Pokémon Black and White 2
On the 3DS Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
And on the Switch Pokémon shield and sword
No, the New Nintendo 2DS XL has been out for years. There's no New Nintendo 2DS.
Then I probably read out.
The New Nintendo 2DS XL is not part of the DS family but the 3DS family
The latest device in the Nintendo DS family is the Nintendo DSi XL.
The Nintendo DS was then replaced by the Nintendo 3DS. The newest device in this group of systems is the New Nintendo 2DS XL. (Don't let the "2DS" irritate you. It is still part of the 3DS family, but does not have the eponymous 3D effect.)
The 3DS has since been replaced by the Nintendo Switch.
Since you also seem to be interested in the latest Pokémon game, I can also name them.
On the DS, the Pokémon would be black and white and its successor Black 2 and White 2.
On the 3DS Pokémon Sun / Moon or Ultra Sun / Ultra Moon.
On the Switch Pokémon sword / shield.
But you should note that new does not automatically mean better. The latest book or film in a row is not always the best.
Which device would you recommend to me?
It mainly depends on which games you want to play. I'm just going to assume that it's primarily about Pokémon.
In this case I would recommend a system from the 3DS family. You can play all DS and 3DS games on it, including four of eight Pokémon generations (4-7). In addition, a 3DS is not as expensive as a switch.
The hardware is out of date, so you can't expect exceptionally good graphics (although the Pokémon sword / shield aren't visually impressive either, so it doesn't make too much of a difference).
Then I briefly mention all devices in the 3DS family.
The Nintendo 3DS is the standard model and has an adjustable 3D effect (without glasses), this also applies to all other devices with 3D in the name.
The Nintendo 3DS XL is bigger.
The Nintendo 2DS has no 3D effect and can't be folded up. It is rather intended as a cheap alternative, which is primarily designed for younger players.
The New 3DS is more powerful and has an improved 3D effect. You can also play the New 3DS games on systems from the New range, which do not work on older devices. However, these are only a few titles.
The New 3DS XL is bigger.
The New 2DS XL is basically a New 3DS XL without a 3D effect. In contrast to the normal 2DS, it can be folded up.
In addition, the individual devices differ in design.
Personally, I think the New 2DS XL is best because it has all the advantages of a New 3DS XL, but it is a little cheaper due to the lack of the 3D effect (which I think is just a nice gimmick).
