Nintendo 2DX XL charge lamp?

Hello I got the New Nintendo 2ds xl today. And I've been charging it for 2 hours. The battery indicator when you turn it on shows fully charged, but the small charging lamp still lights when it is connected to the power. Why does the charge lamp light up even though the battery is full.

I do not think that the charge lamp is with me it is the light when I turn it on
