I took the case off my cell phone and kept it under the tap to clean it (it's waterproof) as it was pretty dirty. Then I plug my Nintendo Switch power adapter / charging cable into my phone to charge it (both use USB-C cable) and suddenly it does not work. I already have the worst premonitions and try to charge my Swithh with it, of course in vain. The cable is broken. Probably there was a tiny bit of water in the charging cable port of my cell phone, where the cable broke immediately. Is the cable really broken completely and there's no way to repair it? Because such a power supply for the switch costs 30 euro and money is now growing even from trees. And yes, the cable went before I washed my phone and then plugged in the cable, so there's really no other option than with the water.
Let it dry.
There's still hope! Just after I read your comment, I put it back in and for 5 seconds my phone has loaded! After that, the charging symbol has gone away again and the cable is no longer charging, but that was already a small glimmer of hope.
I think the power supply (where USB comes in) is evt defective and not the cable. It should actually be enough to get a new USB c cable and a new 5v power supply on USB.
Hardly likely! Probably bug in the power supply.
I could imagine that it does not load because of the moisture as protection.
I'm still unsure. I'll wait until tomorrow morning and if it does not work then I'll buy a new one. The problem with the Nintendo power supply is just that the cable and the power supply are welded together.
