I bought a Nintendo Switch in Canada and automatically saved the Canada region in my Nintendo Account.
I spent a long time in Canada (several months) and therefore thought that it would be better to create a Canadian account so that I can also buy e-shop credits to buy games in the e-shop.
After a few months I'm back in Germany and wanted to change the region because I can only use the German Nintendo credit if my Nintendo account is German.
So I tried online to change it from Canadian to German, it just doesn't work because I have a few dollars left in my account and you can't change the region if you still have credit left.
Unfortunately, the value is too low to be able to buy anything with it. I also tried to buy something with the credit and my German credit card so that I can get the amount of 0 dollars to finally be able to change the region, but unfortunately European credit cards are not accepted because my account is Canadian.
Does it mean that there's no way to change my region at all and that I will have a Canadian account and can never use German credit?
I can't imagine that Nintendo didn't intend anything there. Unfortunately I could not find a solution on the Internet and hope for helpful answers.
I would try it like this: go to
https://www.ebay.ca/...w.ebay.ca/ and buy an "eShop" card there. As far as I know, the codes are always sent by email. On ebay you can pay with paypal or credit card.
It is probably something more that you pay and then some exchange rate fees.
I don't really know the Switch or Nintendo in detail, so I don't know any technical solution.
