Ebay buyer wants a discount due to small quirk in the display?

I sold a Nintendo Switch and described it as new. However, I did not notice a small quirk on the display (really very, very small). Only when I packed the console… I used the switch very rarely. Now the buyer wants me to go down from 350 euro to 300 euro, or to send a switch in the specified state by July 15th… But this is not possible because it is an older switch which is hardware-technically different… In addition, these consoles will be removed 350 - 400 euro traded. So I would incur higher costs…

I offered to withdraw from the purchase if he is not satisfied. And I proposed a price reduction of 15 euro… But the price of 300 euro is hurtful and insolent… Can't you do anything about it? Am I completely to blame now and have to deal with him?

Hm, that's always difficult and always depends on the end. When it comes to microscratches, I think it's exaggerated. You are of course to blame for quirks that are not described.

Let them send it back to you and pay the buyer the money back, whereby I would make sure that you only give it out after receiving the goods. And it is uncertain whether the buyer will respond.

He only meant that he agreed with 300 euro, or would like a switch in the specified state…

And I want n cold beer and 10 naked hairdressers. Send him the money after receiving the goods

If a business on ebay goes wrong you can ask ebay for help. This not only applies to the buyer, the seller can also contact eBay support.

You offer him goods back and money back or nothing. You do not have to respond to this request

The price is anything but outrageous for a used switch. Prices of 350 euro from providers like you are outrageous.

You knew about the problem and didn't even let your buyer know, that's your problem.

Quirks on the display are a horror to me too, so I would also ask for a 50 euro discount. 15 euro is nothing and not even the slightest loss of value caused by such a quirk. Maybe you can show a picture of the Macke.

If your buyer paid with PayPal, you have bad cards anyway.

I would not have sent back, who knows what happens on the way of shipping.

If you sell an item as "like new", then you have to deliver it. Apparently you didn't, but with a small quirk. This is not like new and on your part (I think it's called) breach of contract. The fact that you didn't see it or that you saw it too late is not relevant, or your problem.

I find the requested price reduction in order; an "as new" article has no quirks.

My advice: be cooperative, because you messed up here, not the buyer.

And in the future: look right and do not sell as "like new", but "used"

From your eBay offer, which was now very easy to find:

The console has rarely been used and has
absolutely no traces of use. She has
no scratches no quirks,
It is like new!

According to your own statement, this is not true, so you would have to completely reverse and reimburse the buyer all costs including shipping, as if the purchase had never taken place, you do not need to accept a discount.

However, since your buyer paid via PayPal, which you cleverly offered as the only payment method and whose terms of use you clicked on as read, he only has to open a buyer protection case for a different item and your money is gone.

And then you can transfer the cost of a tracked return shipment to get your item back.

So, choose something.
