Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 zsm play?

I wanted to ask how Mario Kart 8 deluxe can be played locally together. My brother has a switch and me and we all wanted to play on his own zsm. I have seen on YT that if you play zsm, that then only 2 players on the map. How can I do it normally with 12 players can play zsm for two?

If I understood correctly you only have one switch.

If that's the case, you'll need to go to Multiplayer in the main menu, select 2 players there and then simply adjust the settings as you like.

So if you both have a switch you both need the game, then you both have to go local, one opens a room, the other one goes in and out.
