Connect 3DS with username / password - WLAN?

I'm currently trying to connect my Nintendo 3DS to the Wi-Fi in my dorm. The problem is that I always need a user name and a password to log into the WLAN. For example, when I With the smartphone connected to the WLAN, two fields immediately opened, one for the user name and one for the password. With the 3DS, on the other hand, when I select the WLAN, only one field appears ("Please enter the security key"). But I don't have the security key, I always have a username and password. Logically, if I put both in one field for the security key, it won't work. Have already tried the most different things, such as username and. Write the password together, write with a space bar, with an asterisk in between, but nothing worked (as expected). Is there any solution how I can still connect the 3DS to my dorm Wi-Fi? And if that is not possible, what alternatives would you have?

Goodness the 3DS is still so fashionable…

He can't handle CHAP activations. Do you have an ethernet connection?

Is it a student residence?

You just have to enter the WPA2, nothing more. You know what your Wi-Fi is called, then click on it and then just the WPA2 key

I think the reason is more nostalgia than fashion. Unfortunately I do not have an Ethernet connection (to my knowledge). You guess right, it's a student dorm.

So I did it successfully at home because I only had to enter a single 20-digit code. In my dormitory, on the other hand, I have to enter the user name and password, although there's only one field available.

Luckily I have my own apartment, I'm also a student myself.

I think it's almost impossible here, since most routers (except for a few self-flashed models) can't be used for something like that.

You would have to create a bridge between the student dormitory's Wi-Fi and your Nintendo. If you have a Windows PC or laptop, it is possible.

Uff. I have no idea if that solves your problem, but maybe you could try switching the WLAN to "open" first, so that no key is needed and your 3DS can be connected to it. If the 3DS has the connection, there would be the possibility to switch back to the key and test whether that is still possible or at least the key is then accepted with the 3DS, without a username, or (so we did it with our Alice back then) Box made, because it requires a user, if I don't make a mistake, I'm really not sure anymore) to leave the WLAN box open, but with the setting not to allow new devices. Then you have to change the setting to allow for a new device every time.
