But if I now compared a perfectly running MK7 in 4K with an equally smooth MKWii in 4K: which would be better? Of course I'm not referring to the gameplay and fun, but only to the graphics and how extensive the games would be. Another game that could be compared graphically would be e.g. New Super Mario Bros. 2 vs. New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Can you perhaps say something about it, or would it be about the same level? After all, the Wii had a significantly larger housing and would therefore have more space for better hardware, which would outshine the graphics of the 3DS. However, you have to consider that the 3DS is a lot newer than the Wii…

You recognized it correctly: the pictures in the Wii have a higher resolution because they usually have to deliver a large picture. In principle, enlarging a 3DS very much would be like stretching a small picture to the size of a house roof. The number of pixels does not increase, the gaps are then only filled with neighboring pixels. Start an NDS emulator and switch it to full screen, then you will notice what I mean. It can be so well resolved on the NDS, stretching the image breaks the optics.
