Inviting GTA5 PS4 players to PS5 players doesn't work?

I managed to secure a ps5 and play the ps4 version of GTA5 on it because no new games appeal to me yet…

If I now want to join a buddy (PS4 player) or invite them, it says that both of them must have completed the introduction to gta online…

But if I go to the party I can join him through it… Is that really just because I play on ps5?

It's absolutely annoying when I can just join him like that.

Ok thank you ^^ I was a bit afraid that all this crossplay stuff between 4 and 5 wouldn't work so well
