I recently bought a smart TV (Samsung RU7179, 43 inches) and a pair of boxes (Mackie CR4) for better sound.
Unfortunately, I only noticed when I tried to connect the boxes that the TV has no AUX / jack input. Audio output only possible via HDMI, Bluetooth or optical / digital. The boxes in turn only use AUX or RCA as the source.
The first option would be simply to connect a DA converter via the optical cable to TV and via cinch to the boxes. However, after a short research on the net, it is probably not possible to control the volume via the TV. I found a model with a remote control, but it was so poor in quality that daily use would not be appropriate.
In theory, I could also play everything (Netflix, Prime, YT) on the PS4 and connect it to the boxes via the optical cable. Volume control then via the controller (cumbersome solution), or a PS4 remote control. There are also few PS4 remote controls and the solution would also be rather sub-optimal for me.
Surely there has to be a better solution? Possibly switch a controller between boxes and DA converter and place it to the left of the couch? I'm not an expert in the field and would be happy about tips.
It has a remote control for the volume
The remote doesn't look that good. With a universal fb it should work too, right?
I don't think it will work
