Exchange Ps5 without invoice?

I bought the Ps5 on ebay (original packaging), but I did not receive the invoice for the Ps5. If something is defective, can I exchange the Ps5 without a receipt or do I have to ask the seller about the invoice?

I think that the PS5 can either not be exchanged or with an invoice. I'm not so sure though.

You have to be able to prove that the PS was delivered by that dealer on date xy.

In the case of "broken", the dealer initially has the right to improve the goods, in other words to repair them. The PS would probably be sent to a Sony contract workshop, where it is then opened and checked - and repaired if necessary.

However, the retailer will not take back the goods without proof of purchase.

Without an invoice, no dealer will exchange or refund you anything in the event of a defect (within the guarantee period).

In order to claim warranty services, Sony requires you to present the original invoice or receipt.

Any other type of proof of purchase (card payment slip, testimony, etc.) is sufficient for the use of warranty claims against your seller.

The device has a 2 year statutory warranty. However, this is NOT automatically transferred to a new owner. A declaration of assignment is required for this. Sounds bureauctatic, but that's how it is.

Guarantee is always voluntary anyway. So it can only apply to the original buyer, that's legally ok. Always depends on the manufacturer.

Without the assignment, the dealer could even deny you the warranty if he asks for it.

But one thing is certain, you can practically do nothing without an original receipt, because it can't be proven when and where the device was purchased.
