I'm faced with the decision to either buy a PS5 or a gaming PC.
As some of you may know, current graphics cards are about twice as expensive as they normally are.
I actually think a PC is better, but to be honest, I don't want to wait another year or more until the prices for a graphics card are back to normal. I also think the look of a PC is really very cool and you simply have a lot more options in gaming and other areas.
With a PS5 you can only gamble (and of course you can also watch Youtube or Netflix but you can also do that with a Smart TV). One PS costs less, of course, but the games are also more expensive.
I like good graphics and high FPS for shooters, for example, which both offer.
Should I build myself a gaming PC or buy a PS5 if one could get one?
Nothing at all. At the moment, neither a PS5 nor a PC is worthwhile.
With a computer you have more options and the Playstation has… Games… Exclusive titles. Just wait a while for something to come up. Depends on your intended use. I don't really understand the point of a console, except for the mostly (!) Lower price, which is currently out of the question.
Why is a pc not worth it?
Prices? A graphics card costs 3 times as much in most cases, right now. I also emphasize "at the moment".
Damn, why is that?
Corona, but above all Bitcoin miners. Since the Bitcoin has risen so much, it is worth mining this. The more computing power, the more Bitcoin, ergo many people buy the high-end / upper-class models of graphics cards. Corona of course also has a negative effect.
Neither of them is worth it at the moment. You can get an Xbox Series X here and there for 500 euro, the games are not quite as expensive as the PS5
If it absolutely has to be a PC, watch PC shops like a raw egg
If you are on the used market, it is best to pick up (fraudsters will not be happy to give you the private address by name)
what kind of budget do you currently have?
I think gaming pc is better because you e.g. When you play online games on the plastation you have to pay money online, so I recommend using a gaming pc.
Among other things, it also depends on your budget. If that's not that high, I would recommend a PS5, although this is also very difficult to get at a regular price.
As you said, a PC offers a lot more options and performance. But at the current GPU prices we would advise against a PC or recommend waiting.
At the moment the situation is anything but easy or advantageous. With a good PC you are currently easily at 1600 euro and more if you want a decent PC with a good graphics card and by that I don't mean a GTX 1650 or 1660 super or something similar. But rather something in the direction of RTX and then not necessarily an entry-level card. After all, the PC should be at least as good as a Playsi, or better, which would be even more useful.
Even if it's hard, I think I'd rather wait until there's common sense in the market again. Everything else is a waste of money in my eyes.
I had to buy an RTX3070 at the RRP and a Ryzen 7. With a complete setup with a monitor, headset, keyboard, mouse and everything, it is currently around 4,000 euro. I also considered buying a Ryzen with a graphics unit and then upgrading it later. However, the PS5 would then have even better performance.
Exactly, but I'm currently playing on a Nintendo Switch and in titles like Apex Legends it only reaches 720p and 30fps, so actually unplayable.
No, she wouldn't.
Edit: Sorry, thought that was based on the RTX3070. My mistake
Budget?
Noon or evening dear questioner!

That's true. However, this is also the case with the Playstation 5!

Not only the graphics cards are more expensive! Please consider that! Everything has gotten more expensive! Processors, memory, mainboards, …

I would give you a secret tip on that.
🤫Buy an Xbox Series X, because the games there are a lot cheaper than on the Playstation 5 and they look even better!
Another thing: you have significantly more options with an Xbox than with a Playstation. On the Xbox runs the XboxOS which is based on Windows. There are plenty of productive apps for the Xbox, of course not as many as on the PC.

~ you would be in very good hands with an Xbox Series X ~ 🤫😉
The Xbox Series X has the best graphics in the console area and also has significantly more 120fps titles than the Playstation 5. The PC is of course in front in this point, since you can play any game in any resolution or any frame rate, but the games are not as well optimized as on the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Games with the same resolution and frame rate often look better on the consoles. In addition, you don't have the problem that you can break something in the game because you accidentally moved the file or something like that. The general installation process of games is much faster on consoles and is also a lot easier. * yuck launcher. "

The gaming Pc.
If you'd rather be on a console, it's the Xbox Series X.
Oh, that's really no fun then 🙈. But at the moment it's just really difficult. On the one hand, graphics cards are hard to get and if they are, they are absolutely overpriced and unfortunately it doesn't look any better with the PS5.
Currently not available at all and those that you can have privately are also much too expensive. Wouldn't spend 600 or 700 euro on a playstation in life.
Since a console for bridging would possibly be cheaper for what you want, I would normally estimate 1500 to 2000 euro (complete) from the APUs, I would then prefer to use a used GPU gripping e.g. R9 270x or R9 280x, possibly even the R9 3xx series you can get some good on the used market and beat an APU by lengths
2000 euro or more
