Sophisticated means something different for everyone. But almost all PC VR goggles are better than the PSVR in image quality and tracking, if that's what you mean.

The PS4 (Pro) does not really have the power for VR either. She was not built for that. The tracking is not 360 °, but only a small area that the PS4 camera sees and there only so-so. Not to compare with the Lighthouse system but even inside-out of Oculus is significantly better than PSVR. Also the picture quality can make the others better. FOV was at PSVR think again a little smaller.
The only advantage is that there are some good PS4-Exclusive titles that are not available for the PC. But vice versa is the same.
The PSVR has always been more at the bottom of the flagpole. Even the first Oculus Rift, which appeared before the PSVR, had a better resolution than the PSVR.
For example, the current Oculus Rift S has a resolution of 1280 x 1440 per eye, while the PS4 VR has only 960 x 1080 per eye. Already the first Oculus Rift already had 1080 x 1200 per eye.
The PS4 has just a very weak graphics chip, so higher resolutions probably would not be possible.
