I'm faced with the decision to buy Doom Eternal for either my PS4 Pro or my PC. At the moment I mostly only play with the Playstation and would therefore rather get the PS4 version of the game. However, I'm unsure whether aiming with the controller works so well, compared to aiming with the mouse. Has anyone played the game with a controller and can share their experience with the controls?
It works wonderfully for me. You may not have the precision as on the PC, but with a little practice you can also aim with it.
Runs like any other shooter. Mouse is and will always be faster and more precise, but if you normally play your FPS with a controller, you shouldn't have any further difficulties with Doom Eternal.
If you are used to a controller, then no problem
I did it myself, like the predecessor, with a controller on the Ultra-Brutal difficulty level, without any problems. Runs really well on PS4 Pro with a stable frame rate and great graphics.
In addition, it is also very much about movement and not just about Aim, and it is even easier to control with a stick than with the keyboard.
I would buy it for the PC and then you can either play with the keyboard or you can connect the controller and play it with the controller.
