For a few days now I've had a problem with the Playstation party. Although my headset and controller are healthy, other players can't hear me. I hear other players with no problem.
As soon as I plug in my headset, I see a message in the upper left: "The microphone is muted. Other players can't hear your voice."
Otherwise, this message comes when you mute yourself via the party menu, but I didn't do that. I've tried 100 times to mute and dumb and also tried to speak while I'm in tune, all without success. Again and again I get the message that my microphone is muted. It doesn't even work with a different account, controller and headset.
What could it be?
Ahh I had the bug several years ago.
Sometimes I think it was the Nat guy… Try to open that up.
Restart the router.

Yes is poop. Could never find a permanent solution either. Fortunately, you don't have such problems on a PC.
Do you use the original headset or another does it have a mute switch somewhere?
