Ps4 does not go down?

I tried to restart my ps4 and nothing else works. Once these x o square and triangles are moving, I can't do anything anymore! I can't turn it off with the switch-off button (even if I hold it down) and I'm afraid if I pull the plug that it will go into security mode and if it does that, what do I have to select, etc.
