So I want to get Assassin's Creed Odyssey for Ps4, but a friend told me it was kind of boring and that Assassins Creed Syndicate, Assassin's Creed Origins, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag are better. But it is also a bit of a taste, so I would like to have a second opinion. 😁

AC has always been the same since Black Flag: boring. You should have played the Ezio parts. AC III is still ok.

Origins was great, Blackflag too, Syndicate was okay, and Odyssey is just overflowing with question marks.

Usually you should play all in ascending order from the first part. It depends on the three named:

Do you like role playing games like The Witcher? Then you play origins.

Do you like pirates and ships? Then Black Flag.

Do you just like London at the beginning of industrialization? Then Syndicate.

Your friend is right Odyssey is total junk I think all the other parts are cooler in my opinion I played everyone except Odyssey.

Odyssey unfortunately did not do well, worse than the other last parts, after Desmond and I find the part really garbage, has almost nothing to do with the real Assassin's Creed series anymore.

I would wait for Valhalla, it should be better than Odyssey, at least you are hyped on this part much more than you were on Odyssey.

I disagree and can tell you that Odyssey is a great game. The world is great and just looks amazing. Sometimes there are even photo-realistic nature shots with the photo mode. The fights are far more exciting than in many of the first parts and you have to think about a tactic before you attack an opponent head-on. The story is also interesting and fits into the entire ISU story of the other AC parts.

The problem with the stubborn players who can't get involved in innovations is that there are no assassins and Templars running around in Odyssey.
