Today I laid my 20m flat ethernet (LAN) cable. That had wedged under a door, as I tried to solve it, I tore it a little bit.
I tried to connect it to my ps4 to see if it works, it does not
You really only see a small piece of brown wire sticking out of the cable
Is there any way to fix that somehow?
Theoretically, you can mend any cable. Even mains power cables in the lawnmower drives Yes, the old coax cables were really difficult
But I do not know how a LAN cable is constructed inside. There's only the radical method because you have not to lose anyway slicing look.
And if I cut it up?
I have no idea of something, what should I do dan?
The best way is the broken piece completely rauszuschneiden, shrink tubing over the individual strands each, stripping the individual strands and connect to colors (I would crimp), shrink tubing over, heating and finishing.
Heed my last sentence… Stand in there
How should I strip the individual strands? What is crimping?
Crimping means using a pair of pliers to squeeze a metal sleeve onto the cables.
Best with ner wire stripper. Otherwise rum once with ner razor blade and and pull off should also work.
