Can you play Payday 2 in crossplay?

So I have a PS4 and my friend has a PS3 and we want to play Payday 2 together.

As far as I know, the PS3 / Xbox 360 versions are now dead. So they lag far behind the PS4 / Xbox One versions.
Unfortunately, crossplay is not possible.
