Playstation 5 HDMI? - 1

My question is whether you can plug a 2.1 HDMI cable into a 2.0 HDMI connector. Because with the PS5 you get an HDMI cable where 2.1 is and if I now have a monitor that has an HDMI 2.0 connection, can I then use the HDMI 2.1 cable or do I have to buy a 2.0 HDMI cable?

You can plug any HDMI cable into any HDMI port.

The only difference is the amount of data that can be transferred and which functions are possible as a result.

Incidentally, the new consoles come with the right cable. So you don't have to buy one anyway.
