Why is my mic getting quieter and quieter when speaking?

I have a Razer Electra V2 USB headset and I have the problem that my friends only hear me quietly or that I get quieter as I speak and that I sometimes no longer hear anything and he hears something again when I remove the jack and put it back in (This problem, in turn, only occurs on my PC, but not on other devices such as the Ps4).

My headset driver is also up to date and it is not because of the chat. I have this problem in all language chats.

The Razer support was also not a big help, nor was I able to find anything on the Internet…

My headset settings

Level: 100%

Sensitivity: 100%

Background noise suppression: 5%

Ar

Could it be that you keep going from the mic?

ch

No, my mic is tied to the headset. I hadn't had these problems when I bought the headset. Back then I had my settings on too

Level: 80%

Sensitivity: 70%

And trz. You could hear me very well

The following ideas about what you could try:

Test all USB connections. Maybe. The USB port has a problem.

Could it be that your power supply is not supplying enough power and the motherboard is undersupplied so that the power supply via the USB ports is not sufficient? (I don't know if that's possible, but it would be an idea that the headset doesn't get enough power.)

Otherwise, try the headset on another computer and see if the problem is there. Then you would know it is generally due to the combination headset-PC, or whether your PC is the problem.

Then set the mic to standard.

ch

I would like to do if that would work at all. Hadn't found anything about it before…

An

You wrote under another location that the problems weren't before.

Could it also be that the headset has just had its best years?

Loose contact? Broken cable. Cable break… Does not always have to be directly visible, but could be a cause.

Ar

Respectively. On the old settings.

ch

1. It is not the USB ports. I had checked them out before.

2. The power supply is also less, because otherwise I could not use my keyboard / mouse, for example. Since they are also connected via USB.

3. Everything works fine on my Ps4, but my mic packs there too

ch

I hadn't found anything about that. I do not think that a headset can be reset to the factory settings

For 2 .: I find the keyboard and mouse as a reference for the fact that the power supply provides enough juice. Keyboard and mouse are input devices that hardly need any power. The headset, on the other hand, must supply both the loudspeaker emergency power and the microphone to amplify the signal. So when I assume (I repeat again, I do not know if this is possible at all or if the power supply would not have smoked) then other devices are not necessarily affected.

Either way, you could only solve this problem by unplugging all USB devices and leaving only the headset on. Don't know what else you have connected besides mouse, keyboard and headset.

Regarding 3rd: moment, I understand correctly that the microphone on the PS4 is not working properly either? I understood that differently in your question.

If this is the case, it can of course be that the cable has a kink away that the microphone is damaged.

I also think it's more my mic than the headset itself.
