I ordered the Razer Thresher Ultimate Headset for the ps4 a few days ago. But I have a ps4 slim that doesn't have an optical input. Unfortunately, I'm not really familiar with this technique. Should I buy an adapter to connect the optical cable to the ps4 slim or should I stick with the normal HDMI cable? Can I use all the advantages of the headset, such as Dolby, 7.1 etc., also with the HDMI connection? If not, can you please recommend a good adapter?
Which HDMI port?
The base station doesn't have an HDMI connection at all. Doesn't even need it.
Which headset is that exactly? Is there a link to this? As a rule, headsets are connected to the controller… Wireless, sometimes with Bluetooth.
And if you mean the station… USB? It doesn't need an HDMI.
Or do I misunderstand the question?
This is this headset. Razer Thresher Ultimate PS4 Headset https://www.amazon.de/...07QKNCCS9/
There's an audio hub that you have to connect to the console with an HDMI cable to activate Dolby. (at least that's how I understood it)
How else is the audio hub connected to the console? In videos it is always connected with the optical cable and an HDMI cable.
Okay I see…
Razer probably didn't think about that. I looked at the headset on the net. I can only advise you to try it on TV. So, the hub / hdmi.
I read that too. But I think the quality will suffer
If so, an adapter makes sense. Even if I don't think the quality will suffer a lot. The sound would come from the television one way or another.
Thanks to you for the help 🙏
With pleasure.
With an optical cable, as only audio signals are passed through.
The videos have to show me that the Audio Hub doesn't have an HDMI port.

Or is that a different model?
So I can't use the headset without an adapter? Unfortunately I couldn't find the video anymore. Can I also simply use the hub with the USB connection?
Connect the hub to the TV via Toslink & the console as usual via HDMI.
If you have a relatively new TV, it loops through the surround signal from the HDMI and automatically passes it on to the optical socket. Of course, this has to be set on the TV & Dolby output as well.
I just don't understand what you mean that you should connect the hub via HDMI. That confuses me.
Do you already have the headset? If so, you won't find an HDMI port on the station because it doesn't exist, unless you mean a completely different model.
Yes, I guess I made a mistake with the HDMI connection. How exactly does it have to connect to the television? Is that the only way to use the hub?
The slim has no optical connector had to connect to the television
If you don't want to use an adapter like an HDMI splitter, yes.
Hub - TV (Toslink)
PS4 - TV (HDMI
Audio output on the TV must be set to digital or optical output & if necessary, Dolby must be activated.
The PS4 should be on HDMI & Dolby.
Just try it out if necessary.
You won't have real 7.1 sound anyway, because it's only fake 7.1.
With optical cables it is over from 5.1.
Does this worsen the quality?
how does it have to set it on the television so that everything runs optimally?
Thanks you for the help. It really helped me a lot 🙏
No, I did not get worse with my 5.1 system and my Slim. I had to set the audio output of the ps4 to linear pcm and activate the hdmi control on the television

How do I set this on the TV Fernseher I'm really sorry for the stupid questions, but I really don't know my way around.

All good. Unfortunately, every television set is different for my telefunken I have to go to the Settings menu and then switch on system settings and then hdmi CEC or hdmi control. Then I have to activate it for the individual HDMI inputs. So with you with the hdmi on which the ps4 hangs. It is best to have a general look on Youtube because something is often well explained
Yes, I have a Samsung TV. I'm going to search the internet sometime. I will definitely find it.
