Playing Minecraft with a friend on ps4 without both of them online?

Since I'm unfortunately not able to find anything in the big world of the Internet, I ask here.

I would like to play a Minecraft world with a friend on ps4, but without the creator of the world being actively online (which you can enter independently of the world). Does that only work via servers or are there other options?

You then need a server for this. I mean… Where should your friend get the world data from or how should your PS4 save the new world data if it is from or something else…
