Also have the following problem: I have a controller for the Ps4 (wired, no wireless), which is only recognized as audio, not as a controller itself. I've tried everything: remove it as audio via control panel and all that and still doesn't work. Do I need a special driver for it or something? (btw DS4Windows doesn't work either. It doesn't recognize it as a controller either.
The fact that the audio device is recognized has nothing to do with the fact that it does not function as a controller. You can ignore that.
The fact is that the PS4 DS4 controller is not natively supported in many games. Here you need an emulator that emulates an Xbox controller. The best known are InputMapper, x360ce or DS4mapper.
Steam, for example, now has relatively good DS4 support. Nevertheless, there's one or the other game that the DS4 does not recognize without help. Here you have the option to activate the "Playstation Assistant" in the general controller settings of Steam. He does exactly that, that he uses an Xbox controller for the game. Activate it in Steam if necessary, but deactivate it again if you play other games that natively support the DS4. The emulation also causes problems with some players.
