Download and upload are worse in the evening?

In the evening my upload and download speed is much worse than during the day. I play with a Lan cable on the Ps4. During the day I have a 5 upload and a 40 download. In the evening I only have a 1.5 upload and a 10 download, although as many devices are connected to my Wi-Fi in the evening as during the day.

What could be the reason and what could be done about it?

Cable or DSL?

My assessment is:

It definitely can't be due to WLAN interference, because you are connected with a LAN cable.
It can't be due to the router configuration or cabling, because this is the same during the day as in the evening.

Thus the problem (overloading of the lines or servers) is caused by the Internet provider, who must eliminate it.
So call the provider and request the removal of the defect.

Then I'm not surprised. This is very, very often the case with cables. In the case of cables, all households share a line that only allows a limited volume. In the evening, when everyone is at home, everyone at this seat shares the entire spectrum. This sometimes leads to significant cuts in speed. I would report it to Kabel customer service. Exactly for the reason I switched to DSL (and because uploading cables is cruel) 😅
