Despite the fact that I'm not the RPG type, or whatever that should be, and I wasn't interested in the Destiny 1 story and I always scripted everything, I enjoyed the game. It was the first game I had on the PS3 and I was overwhelmed by what is possible in gaming.
But after almost a year I was really fed up with it. I hate grinding to get good items and when you have everything, what else should you do? Chill on the planet and play every raid until you have all the items… I actually spent all of my time with that.
The main reason that I had so "much" fun with it was only because I met people. Like-minded people. You could write to them at 2 a.m. To come online and then the whole group was together. That was really nice. After a year, I still didn't feel like it anymore and then started with GTA.
By the way, it was in 2018 when I started Destiny. By the way, in 2020 I bought a PS4. I own D2 but only played it briefly.
You hear a lot of criticism from D2 that it is too noob-friendly aka too casualized. I'm a noob, I've only been gaming on consoles for two years. Not even active. But D1 was fine with me. As long as the two of us didn't do a twilight strike, D1 was easy for me. And the raids. They used tactics, no real skill or aim.
I don't know if I should really start with it. I mean, yes I have. But after 2 hours I was so bored that I turned off the PS4 and went to sleep. In the middle of the day. The game bored me. I mean if it's like D1 I'll have fun. But only if I have good people and items. But I don't know if that's the case. From what you hear, this game seems to have only been developed for monetary purposes. And I'm definitely not paying into a console game. Better in mobile games (no joke).
Let me know your opinion and the state of the game. D1 was OK for me, but had too little content.
It's always a subjective thing… I downloaded the game once when it was free on PS Plus. Played 1 hour, got bored to death. So repetitive.
The game is free. As with D1, however, you have to buy a DLC to get the full game… Do you have experience with D1? So can you say you liked this? Or the series in general or even genre?
It wasn't always free. When it was included as a monthly game on PS Plus (September 2018), it still cost something.
I've never played Destiny 1, these RPG shooters are generally not my cup of tea.
Yeah, would call it a good game that I still put my time into
From what you hear, this game seems to have only been developed for monetary purposes.
No. Eververse, which you probably mean, is completely optional. The expansions each bring new content and new raids, the season pass each a new PvE activity and new exotic quests
And I'm definitely not paying into a console game
oh, especially the expansions make the game really good. Forsaken is particularly worthwhile purely from the story
