Switch on PS5 performance mode but leave ray tracing on in Cold War logically?

You read again and again that you should turn on the performance mode for more FPS and then turn off ray tracing. My question is whether I benefit from switching this power mode on but still keeping ray tracing on.

At the moment I'm playing with ray tracing and I haven't changed anything in the console settings. Sometimes it happens in the game that after a respawn I start to jerk for a few seconds (approx. 2-8 seconds). Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, as well as violently or less. The funny thing is, if I die while I'm having these frame drops and respawning, then those jerks are gone. Is that because of the activated ray tracing or the console itself and do you have that too?

I'm generally off ray tracing. In the game I couldn't see any difference graphically. Just makes for less fps.
